The vast majority of my work product has been on behalf of employers, where the content is confidential and unsuitable for public viewing. This portfolio represents content I have created on my own in 2017. It demonstrates the breadth of work product and confirms expertise in various content development tools. Please bear in mind that many of these examples illustrate a particular ID concept and would require additional polish before they would be suitable in an actual training.

Conflict Resolution Activity

In this activity you assume the role of a young people manager in a 1:1 with an experienced worker who reports to her. The employee’s responses depend, in part, on how the manager has responded to previous situations. Once the activity is completed, a scorecard displays showing the conflict resolution style used, interpersonal style, whether good tactics were used during the discussion, and a total score. Content was based on Internet sources consulted, but the activity design was entirely my own.

Jeopardy Activity
This is a two-team version of the popular game that is best used for classroom or live online events. It was authored in Articulate Storyline and depends on complex layers and triggers to execute game behavior.

Examples of Video Interactions
There are two examples shown here using videos reused from Amazon and Microsoft. The first one displays a video and pauses the timeline at intervals to ask questions about the video. Feedback is offered depending on the response. This interactivity can be used to increase learner engagement and for in course testing. The second example displays a video alongside the silhouette of someone watching the video and adding comments. The person’s additional comments help engage the learner and make the video experience less passive.

Sample Lesson of Sales Prospecting
This lesson demonstrates the flow for an eLearning that covers prospecting for a particular solution. The intention is to show how an eLearning can be created simply, and still resembles how a salesperson actually prospects.

Quick Bulletin/Factoid Example

This video uses Powtoon to create a short format with animation and audio. In this case, it communicates some quick facts on a topic, but the format is well suited for marketing announcements. The entire effort was completed in under 2 hours.

Prize Wheel
This activity asks the user to click a button to spin a wheel and win a prize. Created in Articulate Storyline, it uses JavaScript to randomize how long the wheel spins and motion paths to rotate the wheel. This activity could easily have an additional front end built to create conditions before a learner could spin the wheel.

Basketball Horse Game
The learner is presented with 10 questions. If they answer correctly, the animation shoots a basketball correctly into a hoop. If the answer is incorrect, the basketball misses and a letter is added to spell the word HORSE. If there are five incorrect questions, the entire word is spelled and the learner loses the game. Answer 6 or more correctly and they win. The game is made in Articulate Storyline using motion paths and a series of still photos presented in rapid succession to animate the basketball shooting.

Articulate Storyline eLearning with Screencast Demo
This presentation demonstrates the value of the Lending Club peer-to-peer lending offering as an alternative to stocks and bonds. I have been using Lending Club for 7 years and it has proven to be a nice addition to an investment portfolio. This eLearning combines a scripted and animated page turner with a demo explaining how to invest.

PowerPoint Slides from Technical Reference Guide
This PowerPoint presentation was created to screen candidates for an Intel contract instructional design position. They required the output be in PowerPoint and it had to be finished in a few hours time. Given the time constraints and tool requirements, I created a simple page turner that took images from the reference guide, created suitable slide builds to illustrate different elements of the hardware, and rewrote the accompanying script for clarity and brevity.
